Website analytics

Election Lens NZ uses Microsoft Clarity to understand how people use the site and improve it. Clarity can collect information about visits, pages, devices and interactions such as clicks and scrolling, and may produce heatmaps and session recordings. It may use cookies and similar technologies. For details, see Microsoft’s description of Clarity data collection and the Microsoft Privacy Statement.

Your notebook

Notes entered in the claim-check notebook are stored in your browser’s local storage on the device you use. They are not submitted to an Election Lens NZ account or database. Clearing your browser’s site data removes those notes. The notebook is marked for masking in Clarity session recordings; interactions with the site may still be collected as analytics.

Hosting and external links

Our hosting provider may process technical information needed to deliver and protect the site, such as network and request information. Links to party websites and other external sources take you to services with their own privacy practices.

Managing data

You can use your browser settings to block or clear cookies and site data. Clearing site data also deletes notebook notes stored in that browser. Browser settings and privacy tools may affect how the site and analytics work.

Changes

We may update this page when the site or its privacy practices change. The date above shows when it was last updated.
